Ningxia's Current Minimum Wage Standards

The first tier covers Xingqing District, Jinfeng District, and Xixia District in Yinchuan City; Yongning County, Helan County, and Lingwu City; Dawukou District, Huinong District, and Pingluo County in Shizuishan City; Litong District and Qingtongxia City in Wuzhong City; and Shapotou District and Zhongning County in Zhongwei City, at 2,235 yuan per person per month. The second tier covers Hongsibu District, Yanchi County, and Tongxin County in Wuzhong City; Yuanzhou District, Xiji County, Longde County, Jingyuan County, and Pengyang County in Guyuan City; and Haiyuan County in Zhongwei City, at 2,080 yuan per person per month.

For part-time workers, the hourly minimum wage standard is 22 yuan for the first tier and 20 yuan for the second tier.

What Is the Minimum Wage Standard?

The minimum wage standard is a statutory labor benchmark. It is a mandatory minimum labor remuneration that employers must pay to workers, established by the state to protect the basic livelihood of workers and their family members. It is characterized by being statutory, providing a floor, and being compulsory. Simply put, as long as you have provided normal labor, the wage paid by your employer cannot fall below this amount. The monthly minimum wage standard applies to full-time workers, while the hourly minimum wage standard applies to part-time workers.

Note: These Payments Are Not Counted Within the Minimum Wage

According to regulations, the following items are not considered components of the minimum wage standard, and employers must pay them separately: wages for extended working hours (overtime pay); allowances for special working environments and conditions such as middle shifts, night shifts, high temperatures, low temperatures, underground work, and toxic or hazardous settings; and welfare benefits for workers stipulated by laws, regulations, and national provisions, such as meal subsidies, commuting transportation subsidies, and housing subsidies.

What If an Employer Violates the Rules?

If an employer violates minimum wage protection regulations, workers have the right to file complaints and reports, and may also apply for mediation or arbitration in accordance with the law, or initiate legal proceedings.
