Construction Begins on Gezhouba Shipping Expansion, Kicking Off Main Work of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Corridor

Today (October 10), construction officially began on the upstream and downstream cofferdams for the Gezhouba shipping expansion project, part of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Corridor initiative.
These two cofferdams will work together with the bank slopes to enclose the construction area, creating the prerequisite conditions for dry-land construction of the new ten-thousand-tonne-class ship lock.
This marks the full entry of the Gezhouba shipping expansion into the main construction phase.
