New Drilling Contract at Ogden Targets Fold Axis in Gold Exploration Push

On 9 October, gold exploration shifted from chasing high-grade discoveries to testing geological interpretations, which requires new drill holes.

GO Markets said Metals Creek announced on 8 October that it has signed an additional drilling contract for the Ogden project, planning four diamond drill holes with equipment mobilization expected in around two weeks.

The project is held on a 50/50 basis, and the focus of this work is on parts of existing target zones that have not yet been tested.

GO Markets believes that how the holes are selected matters more than simply increasing the number of drill holes.

The company will target a gently east-plunging fold structure, as well as near-surface mineralized extents that have not yet been verified; previously, high grades were closely associated with the fold axis, providing a geological hypothesis that can be tested.

Only if the new holes can repeatedly confirm this relationship will it help reduce reliance on isolated, coincidental high values.

The announcement reviewed a 9.85-metre intercept with an average grade of 115.51 grams of gold per tonne disclosed in July, but this is a historical result, not a new discovery from this program.

The true thickness of the mineralization is currently unknown, and length measured along the drill hole cannot be directly treated as the width of the ore body.

Visible gold may also cause uneven sample distribution, so sampling methods and spatial location need to be considered when further comparing results.

Drilling budgets, assay turnaround times and operating conditions will also determine the pace of verification, and these execution factors cannot be ignored.

GO Markets judges that the signing of the contract means execution arrangements are moving forward, but it does not yet mean drilling has been completed.

Going forward, investors should check equipment mobilization, the actual start of drilling and assay results in sequence, then observe whether the new holes improve understanding of mineralization continuity.

Changes in the project's value should be based on new geological evidence, rather than treating past exceptional intercepts as results that are bound to repeat in the future.
