Recently, data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange showed that 22 new ETFs were listed on the exchange in September, marking the highest monthly total of the year. At one point during the month, eight ETFs were listed on the same day, setting a new single-day record for the year.
Among the 51 newly listed ETFs so far this year, more than half were issued by Hong Kong subsidiaries of mainland public fund managers, involving 10 such subsidiaries.
Among them, CSOP Asset Management topped the issuance list with 8 ETFs during the year, while E Fund Management (Hong Kong) and China Asset Management (Hong Kong) each had 7 newly listed ETFs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange during the year.
In terms of product types, the ETFs newly listed in September were concentrated in cross-market thematic products such as Hong Kong-U.S. technology, Hong Kong-Korea semiconductors, Hong Kong-Malaysia large-cap stocks, Asian AI bottlenecks, and HALO concepts.
