JR East Reports Cyberattack on IDC Frontier, Possible Customer Data Breach

Railway operator East Japan Railway (JR East) has announced that IDC Frontier suffered a cyberattack, and the data of some members registered for its services may have been compromised.

Approximately 1.67 million email addresses linked to the train reservation service Ekinet are suspected to have been leaked.

The senior travel club reported 390,000 records exposed, including credit card expiry dates, dates of birth, and email addresses.

No other credit card data has been found to be compromised at this time.
