Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced that the company has signed a supply contract worth approximately KRW 290 billion for AI server multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) with a major global company, with the contract period running from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2027. This transaction marks the sixth long-term supply agreement Samsung Electro-Mechanics has announced this year. The company stated that since May of this year, it has successively signed long-term supply contracts totaling approximately KRW 3.9 trillion, covering products such as silicon capacitors, AI server MLCCs, and inductors.
Soochow Securities released a research report stating that brand manufacturers including Dell, HP, ASUS, and Acer, through referrals from ODM manufacturers such as Huaqin, LCSC, and Luxshare, have begun validating MLCC products from manufacturers like Weirong and CCTC. Companies including Quanta and Pegatron have also visited CCTC to conduct validation. In the short term, mainland manufacturers may still face constraints in yield rates and production capacity for high-end AI products, but the trend of international OEMs/ODMs expanding the adoption of mainland alternative resources in general-purpose servers, consumer electronics, and low-end automotive-grade markets has become increasingly clear.
