Wolfspeed Inc. surged 19.22%. The silicon carbide chip maker said it received a conditional 30-year loan commitment of up to $1.5 billion from the U.S. Defense Department to expand domestic silicon carbide materials and wide bandgap power devices, including upgrades to gallium nitride epitaxy and radiation-hardening capabilities; the facility carries warrants for up to 7.5% of equity and remains subject to definitive agreements and approvals.
Applied Digital gained 5.04%. The AI data center operator reported fiscal first-quarter revenue of $341.9 million (up 322% year over year) versus $116.3 million expected and an adjusted loss of $0.01 per share versus a $0.30 loss forecast, driven by increased tenant fit-out services and the start of hosting rentals, including $79.1 million in rental and other revenue.
