Guotai Junan International: UBS AG Nets 170,000-Share Reduction, Retains 7.36% Stake Amid Privatisation Process

On 5 October 2026, the Executive under the Hong Kong Code on Takeovers and Mergers disclosed dealings in the shares of Guotai Junan International Holdings Ltd (Guotai Junan International) connected to its proposed privatisation by scheme of arrangement.

UBS AG—classified as a Class (6) associate of the offeree due to its existing shareholding—executed a series of on-market trades in Guotai Junan International shares on 2 October 2026. The bank purchased an aggregate 150,000 shares at prices ranging from HKD 2.9050 to HKD 2.9100 per share, while selling 315,000 shares at HKD 2.9052 to HKD 2.9075 per share.

Following these transactions, UBS AG’s holding stood at 701.22 million shares, equivalent to 7.36 % of Guotai Junan International’s issued share capital. All trades were carried out on UBS AG’s own account. UBS AG is ultimately wholly owned by UBS Group AG.
