To further broaden sales channels for local agricultural specialties and solidify a stable foundation for farmers' income growth, the "two committees" of Shuiping Village in Zhengxing Town, together with the village-based work team, recently took the initiative to coordinate with their paired support unit, the Pu'er Tea College of West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences, to carry out a new round of centralized procurement activities under the consumption-based assistance program.

This centralized procurement effort precisely addressed development challenges facing local agricultural products, including poor transportation, scattered sales, and low prices, fully opening up the "last mile" of connecting production with sales. It directly helped 34 farming households in the village achieve stable income growth, injecting sustained momentum into rural industrial revitalization and farmers' prosperity.

The consumption-based assistance focused on the village's distinctive and advantageous agricultural products, with priority given to four major categories: ecological free-range chickens, walnuts, honey, and nuts. A total of 193 units were procured through centralized purchasing, with the total procurement amount reaching 57,900 yuan. The assistance covered all villager groups in Shuiping Village.

Through the model of "designated centralized procurement with direct supply and sales from the place of origin," accumulated inventory of agricultural products held by villagers was quickly absorbed. Compared with scattered retail sales, centralized purchasing prices were more stable and better guaranteed. This initiative not only effectively raised farmers' operating income but also greatly boosted villagers' confidence and determination to develop specialty farming and breeding industries. It achieved a fundamental transformation in approach and fully activated the internal drive of the people to participate in rural industrial development.

In recent years, Shuiping Village in Zhengxing Town has fully leveraged the resource advantages of its paired support unit, incorporating consumption-based assistance into its regular and long-term key work. Based on the village's existing agricultural industry resources, it has continued to build a stable and efficient platform for connecting agricultural production with sales. The village "two committees" and the village-based work team have targeted their efforts precisely and provided proactive services. Each year, they survey in advance the farming and breeding scale and agricultural output of all households in the village, proactively coordinate with the paired support unit to finalize procurement orders, organize centralized purchasing by category, and regularly carry out activities benefiting farmers such as order-based assistance, centralized procurement, and production-sales support. This has steadily shifted the village's consumption-based assistance from "short-term emergency sales assistance" to an institutionalized development model of "long-term stable orders."

Since 2021, the cumulative procurement amount under Shuiping Village's consumption-based assistance has exceeded 200,000 yuan. This has effectively guided farmers to optimize and adjust their farming and breeding structures, driven villagers to continuously expand the scale of cultivating quality agricultural specialties, and promoted the village's agricultural production to gradually transform from scattered and fragmented farming toward standardized, large-scale, and industrialized development. It has achieved a mutually beneficial outcome of steady growth in collective village economic income and continuous improvement in farmers' incomes.

Consumption-based assistance is an important lever for empowering rural industrial revitalization and consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation. Going forward, Zhengxing Town will continue to deepen its consumption-based assistance efforts, increase publicity and promotion of local quality agricultural specialties, continuously broaden sales channels for agricultural products, extend the production-sales connection chain, and keep the "last mile" of production-sales linkage open. It will promote quality improvement and efficiency gains in the village's specialty agricultural industry and continuously broaden channels for increasing farmers' incomes, using regular consumption-based assistance to support comprehensive rural revitalization and high-quality development.
