On the afternoon of October 4, a video circulated showing a passenger's finger being caught in a Pony.ai driverless car door the previous evening, drawing widespread attention.

In response, Pony.ai (NASDAQ: PONY) told media: "On October 3, while a passenger was boarding, their finger was accidentally caught when a companion manually closed the car door. We immediately assisted with the situation and cooperated with the traffic police investigation. After reviewing the complete video of the incident provided by our company, the traffic police determined it was an accidental incident, not a traffic accident."

"We helped the passenger seek timely medical attention. After examination, the passenger was found to be unharmed and has now returned home to rest. We will continue to follow up and provide necessary support," Pony.ai (NASDAQ: PONY) stated.
