Market Chatter: Nvidia Blackwell Chips Linked to Chinese State-Backed Financing

NVIDIA Blackwell chips were purchased through financing provided by Semi-Tech Leasing, a Chinese company controlled by local government entities, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing regulatory filings.

Semi-Tech Leasing provided more than 3 billion yuan ($420 million) in financing for over 700 servers, including 32 Asus servers equipped with Nvidia's B300 chips, since August 2025, according to the report.

The B300 is part of Nvidia's Blackwell chip family, and US rules prohibit sales of the chips to China without an explicit license, Bloomberg reported.

Nvidia said it is looking into the report and will work with its OEM customer to investigate, while Asus said it is committed to complying with applicable laws and export controls, Bloomberg added.

Nvidia and Asus did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
