Flagship Minerals' (ASX:FLG) Whipsaw Copper subsidiary secured three mineral claim applications spanning a total area of nearly 38 square kilometers, expanding its tenure in Canada, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The mineral claims will be covered in an upcoming light detection and ranging and drone magnetics program as part of the company's preparation for a potential spin-out through an initial public offering of shares in Whipsaw Copper, the filing said.
The company will rank exploration targets and conduct fieldwork to identify geological and geochemical indicators for targeted mineralization styles, per the filing.
Shares rose 1% in afternoon trade Tuesday.
