AbbVie's (ABBV) Epkinly could become a preferred frontline option in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, as its phase 3 result looks favorable against other recently positive regimens on a cross-trial basis, UBS Securities said.
The investment firm said in a Monday note that the data would support use of Epkinly with R-CHOP chemotherapy, potentially ahead of combinations such as Roche's Polivy and glofitimab.
UBS sees a potential multi-billion-dollar opportunity, versus consensus peak sales of just $1 billion to $2 billion for AbbVie, which splits economics with Genmab.
The brokerage also noted the study succeeded in a broader patient population than expected, and said it still needs to see full data and safety, which could come at ASH in December.
UBS has a neutral rating on AbbVie, with a $260 price target.
