Weebit Nano (ASX:WBT) rejected commentary made on Tuesday on Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) News Day radio suggesting that rising research and development (R&D) spending has increased the company's bankruptcy risk, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The company said it was unaware of such concerns from analysts and reaffirmed its strong financial position, citing AU$168.3 million in cash as of June 30, despite a net operating cash outflow of AU$18.4 million in fiscal 2026.

The company added that it raised AU$102 million in fiscal 2026 through institutional placements and a share purchase plan, providing a strong financial base to continue developing and commercializing its ReRAM and artificial intelligence technologies.

The company's shares were down nearly 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
