Wall Street futures pointed moderately lower pre-bell Wednesday as the tech rally paused amid higher bond yields and global crude prices.
In the futures, after closing at record highs on Tuesday, the S&P 500 fell 0.2%, and the Nasdaq declined 0.6% pre-bell. The Dow Jones was off 0.4%.
Investors await the 2 pm ET release of minutes of the Federal Reserve Sept. 16-17 policy session, in which central bankers voted 12-0 to boost interest rates. Comments will be parsed for clues to the Fed's outlook.
In pre-market moves, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded up 0.6% to $89.96 a barrel, and 10-year US Treasuries yields rose to 5.32%.
The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH) traded down 1.2% before the open.
Asian exchanges traded mostly lower overnight, while European bourses tracked south midday on the continent.
On the economic calendar, in addition to the Fed minutes, is the weekly MBA mortgage applications bulletin at 7 am ET, followed by the weekly EIA petroleum status report at 10:30 am.
The consumer credit release for August logs at 3 pm.
In pre-market action, bitcoin traded at $83,887, and spot gold commanded $4,110 an ounce.
