Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) said Australia's Takeovers Panel received an application from Ida Metal Investments, a substantial holder of Zenith Minerals and an associate of Aurenne Group Holdings, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The applicant said Zenith's board rejected a non-binding AU$5 million equity funding proposal from Aurenne, submitted Oct. 2, as not a superior proposal to the bid from Forrestania Resources, per the filing.
The applicant is seeking interim orders that Forrestania not process further acceptances or declare the bid unconditional, that no director performance rights vest or be exercised, and that Zenith and Forrestania not enforce the no-talk and no-due-diligence clauses to block engagement with Aurenne, the filing said.
Forrestania Resources' shares added about 2% in recent Wednesday trade.
