Central Petroleum (ASX:CTP) drilled the PV14 well in the Northern Territory to a total measured depth of 2,942 meters, equivalent to a true vertical depth of 2,096 meters, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The well is expected to be tied into the Palm Valley production facility and commissioned by the end of October, per the filing.
The well was tested for 90 minutes and reached a final estimated gas rate of about 3.2 terajoules per day, with no water or oil recovered. However, the company said the gas rate did not stabilize after 90 minutes and was still "increasing slowly" following the short-duration flow test.
PV14 is part of a joint venture between Central Petroleum with a 50% stake, Echelon Resources (ASX:ECH) with a 35% interest, and Cue Energy Resources (ASX:CUE) holding the remaining 15%.
