Market Chatter: Amprius Technologies Selects Caminus to Produce Drone Batteries in US

Amprius Technologies (AMPX) has awarded Indiana-based battery startup Caminus a contract to produce drone batteries in 2027, The Information reported Monday.

Caminus will use Amprius' silicon anodes in batteries for about 60,000 combat drones in H1 of 2027, with annual capacity potentially reaching 800,000 packs, the report said, citing Caminus Chief Executive Adrian Yao. Caminus is expected to begin commercial battery production in Q1 of 2027, the report added.

Amprius Technologies and Caminus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
