SPT Energy Group (HKG:1251) said its subsidiary completed drilling the BET-X exploration well in the Jabung Tengah Block in Indonesia, identifying multiple potential oil and gas-bearing zones.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 9,032 feet between Sept. 5 and Oct. 1, with 42 anomalous to strongly anomalous gas-logging intervals totaling 560 feet, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Preliminary open-hole logging showed multiple potential hydrocarbon layers in the lower Talang Akar Formation, with high oil saturation and gas components. The company said the results indicate the presence of light crude oil and natural gas, with no carbon dioxide or hydrogen sulfide detected.

SPT Energy said follow-up testing of the BET-X well is underway.
