Black Bear Minerals (ASX:BKB) said data from historic drilling results indicates gold potential at the Shafter silver project in Texas, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The gold mineralization associated with high-grade silver intercepts included 8.2 meters at 348 grams per tonne grade of silver, as well as 0.3 g/t grade of gold and 23.2 meters at 206 g/t grade of silver as well as 0.2 g/t grade of gold, the company said.

The re-analysis of historic pulps for some drill holes also delivered an uplift in silver grade, it added.

The precious metals developer's shares were up over 1% in recent trading on Tuesday.
