Jardine Cycle & Carriage Faces Retracement Risk on Wide NAV Premium
Dow Jones
Yesterday
0312 GMT - Jardine Cycle & Carriage's 31% premium to net asset value is unjustified, while its shares could retrace after rising around 10% Tuesday ahead of its special dividend, Macquarie analysts Jayden Vantarakis and Ari Jahja say in a note. The shares will trade ex-dividend on Thursday, providing a clear retracement catalyst, they say. Macquarie lowers its Jardine Cycle & Carriage net-earnings estimates for 2027 and 2028 by 7% and 8%, respectively, after removing C&C from its model and the 0.5% Toyota Motor stake from its NAV calculation. The bank downgrades the stock to underperform and cuts its target to 23.50 Singapore dollars from S$26.00. Stock is down 5.8% at S$27.59.
