Apple (AAPL) plans to expand its smart-home ecosystem with a doorbell, thermostat, smart deadbolt lock and security cameras developed with LG Electronics, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
The LG-branded lineup will include indoor, outdoor and floodlight cameras, with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Matter, while the smart lock will feature ultra-wideband technology for automatic unlocking, according to the report.
Apple is set to unveil a new smart-home hub, upgraded HomePod mini and TV set-top box on Oct. 13, while the LG-developed accessories are expected to launch in the coming months, Bloomberg added.
Apple and LG Electronics did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
