American Water Works Unit Completes $1.4 Million Utility Acquisition

American Water Works (AWK) subsidiary Kentucky American Water has completed the $1.4 million acquisition of the Black Mountain Utility District water system and wastewater service in Harlan County, the company said Friday.

The acquisition adds more than 4,300 water connections, according to a statement.

The subsidiary is committed to investing over $20.9 million in the water system improvements over the next five years, the company said.
