Austral Resources Australia (ASX:AR1) said recent assay results expanded the known strike extent of the McLeod Hill copper system in Queensland to more than one kilometer, substantially beyond the roughly 470-meter strike extent of the existing mineral resource, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
Assay results include five meters at 2.3% copper from 70 meters; 20 meters at 0.6% copper from 67 meters; eight meters at 1.2% copper from 43 meters; and 15 meters at 0.8% copper from 70 meters, per the filing.
The drilling has extended copper mineralization about 340 meters south and 160 meters north of the existing mineral resource footprint, the company said, adding that mineralization remains open along strike in both directions.
Austral Resources shares fell 3% in recent Monday trade.
