Energy stocks were declining pre-bell Friday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) 0.4% lower.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.5% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.2% lower at $91.35 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil fell 0.8%% to $103.44 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.8% at $3.14 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Transocean (RIG) said Norge secured a $62 million two-well contract with Shell's (SHEL) Norwegian unit, A/S Norske Shell. Transocean stock was 0.7% higher premarket.
