Celanese is boosting the price for some of its polyamide products in the Americas as a response to cost increases.

The specialty materials and chemicals company said that the price of Polyamide 6 products across six different brand lines will be lifted by 44 cents a kilogram or 20 cents a pound. Prices for Polyamide 66 products are being raised by 33 cents a kilogram, or 15 cents a pound.

The brands subject to price increases are Zytel, Frianyl, Celanyl, Minlon, CoolPoly, and Ecomid.

"The adjustment responds to continued cost increases and evolving market conditions while supporting Celanese's commitment to reliable supply, product quality and customer service," the company said.

The price increase is effective on all shipments beginning Oct. 19, as contracts allow. Celanese said that individual grades may be subject to a higher price hike.
