Binance Responds to Iran Sanctions, Freezes Related Accounts as BNB Surges Past $750

TradingKey - Binance responds to Iran sanctions, claiming to have frozen and offboarded non-compliant accounts as BNB rallies past $750.

On October 10 Eastern Time, momentum in Bitcoin and Ethereum stalled, pulling the broader crypto market down under pressure. However, Binance's exchange token (BNB) demonstrated strong Alpha safe-haven attributes and downside resilience, rebounding further today to conquer the key $750 level in a highly symbolic counter-trend rally.

Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal reported that accounts linked to Iranian financial networks allegedly used shell accounts to evade sanctions, involving approximately $850 million in liquidity, raising market concerns over compliance and risk control (KYC/AML). Binance promptly responded, emphasizing that the exchange strictly complies with international anti-money laundering and OFAC sanctions regulations, and stated it has confirmed the proactive identification, complete freezing, and offboarding of all accounts suspected of non-compliance and sanctions risks.

By demonstrating strong execution in swiftly freezing suspicious accounts, Binance signaled its robust compliance monitoring capabilities to institutional investors. This not only quickly curbed market panic over a broadening regulatory storm, but also led the market to view the action as bad news priced in, eliminating the threat of a potential black swan.

As the price of BNB rises, it is gradually approaching resistance at the middle band, which may suppress its upside in the short term and potentially prompt another test of the $700 level. However, as long as the broader market (BTC) holds the $80,000 level, the likelihood of BNB breaking below $700 is very small, meaning the bullish breakout pattern remains valid.
